2:40pm on a Friday afternoon.
I've got spammed by the job chat and I got pissed off how the human ignorance become idiocracy, but anyway, I should be humble and grateful to be part of this "family" that will be ready to make a late abortion anytime I'm trying to prove them wrong or trying to point out there are better solutions of their irrepressible problems.
I got out to release some tension and have a coffee, to fight my own demons and overindulge myself with a sweet "brioche alla crema", at that next door patisserie I have a habit to go, avoiding all my anxious episodes.
3pm
I text that special guy I can't stop thinking about, quote: "I got so pissed of on my team rn feels like a need a cigarette". Next thing, an older gentleman joined the table beside me. He was probably a handsome guy years ago, tall with beautiful jaw lines. Still had some black lines into his silver shiny hair. Nowadays, probably he had kids my age. He's taking out of his loose pocket a pack of tiny cigarettes and slowly fire one with a blue lighter.
I overthink for couple of minutes, doubtfully analysing my desire to smoke, then I breathe out and ask: "could i borrow a cigarette?"
He's taking some time to understand if I really addressed to him and slightly intimidated, he's switching his almost consumed cigarette into his left hand, then he handled me the pack and the lighter, constantly excusing himself that those are slims and not regular sized ones. I thanked him and gratefully said that I prefer the slims more, and I've seen a sparkle of weightlessness in his tired blue eyes.
I left right I've finished smoking, thanked him one more time and I left his uncontrollable admiration on his cared away wrinkled face.
For some reason, I'm sure he followed me with his sight while I was walking away and I genuinely believe in my humbleness he's gonna still think of me and, on his future fantasies I'll be his muse.
Then, if he's lucky enough to have a wife, he's gonna close his eyes to portray myself and, for once he's gonna be so grateful that tonight he's not gonna be using another portion of viagra.
On a conclusive note of my raw "dear diary" confession, I let my flow of thoughts to successfully distract myself from the work routine and, by spilling all those random thoughts into words, i understood a weirdly coincidental fact: Universe gave me exactly what I've asked for, and I let all the prejudices and I took it.
How many times we ask our wishes to become true and when it arrives we're behaving insecure and childish that that's not how we wanted.
How many times we summon only the outcomes without digging deeper into our consciousness and reveal to ourselves, that actually we get what we asked for, just maybe and only maybe, we didn't learned yet how to correct formulate and communicate our own wishes.
Did I needed that cigarette? Who knows, uncertain.
Did I wanted - yes, and I got it delivered.
Q: "Be careful what you wish for."
